United Women in Faith

United Women in Faith (UWF) meets at 12:30 on the third Tuesday of each month.

Begun by eight Boston women in 1869, today the United Women in Faith (UWF) has approximately half a million members. The founders initially banded together to help meet the spiritual and physical needs of poor women in India. This legacy continues with a mantra of "showing up and getting things done" and that spirit is still alive at Ware's Chapel UWF organization.

Areas of focus include:

  • Equip -providing opportunities for growth to assist members being leaders in the church and local community and beyond
  • Educate - member participation in UWF Reading Program and nationwide MissionU; spiritually focused programs at monthly meetings
  • Serve and advocate - concentration on activities involving women, children and youth and those in need ; example prayer blankets/shawls for the sick
  • Organize - programs emphasizing the strength of banding together with other UWF groups - district, conference and national - to accomplish common goals . Examples include support of UMC children and retirement homes

We believe love in action can change the world. Come join us!
